Keeping Your Comforter Cozy & Clean

We’ve been talking a lot about spring cleaning lately but hey it’s that time of year. So we tend to the yard and the house but what about your bedding? Keeping your comforter clean is important. Here are some tips on how to do it.

1. Keeping your comforter clean can be a process to do it all the time. We recommend using a duvet cover. Not only will it keep your comforter clean but it will prolong its life, not to mention it’s much easier to regularly clean the duvet.

2. Twice a year take your comforter out. Airing it out for the day will maintain freshness and give it that line-dried smell.

3. Fluff it up! Shaking and fluffing your comforter regularly will disperse the down clusters, letting in air and renewing its loft.

4. If you’re going to clean your comforter on your own, make sure to follow the manufacturer’s directions for washing. If you don’t want to clean it yourself, no worries, just bring it to Best!

5. If you pack your comforter away in the summer months be sure to do these two things; make sure it’s cleaned before storing it and be sure to store it in a breathable bag. A clean comforter will keep the critters away and a breathable bag (rather than plastic) will prevent mildew from setting in.
